Was there anything of interest out there, or just more of the same?
[text]
One of your friends?
Sorry.
[Perma-filtered text]
Don't think I've seen enough of this world to make a call about what's interesting.
[Perma-text]
[...pity me, is what Rude wants to write. But taking out his frustration on Laguna isn't fair on him, especially when Laguna's just trying to be nice. Rude's better than that. So he erases his message and writes something else.]
Be sorry. He got to go home.

Who was this 'Reno' person you mentioned earlier? A colleague of yours?

Someone I know.
[He doesn't know if he can trust Kimblee enough to let him know about his and Reno's partnership just yet.]

It's still a bit of a bummer. Even though they're gone - probably back to a nice home - well, it's still a bit sad not waking up with them around.
That's what happened toWell, it's happened to some of my pals too.
Oh, uh - Yunie told me (though one of my psychics) to ask how your own Eevee is going. Guess she's a bit worried.

[It's just going to take awhile for him to get used to the silence again.]
Any missions sir?
no subject
Trick's alright. Won a few battles and gained some levels. His mother doesn't have to worry about him.

[That's a caller ID he hasn't seen in awhile. ...Ikuto, that's the kid's name.]
You still around at Goldenrod?

Sorry about your friend.

That's something.

[He's waiting for his with every passing day.]
How long you been here?
[He's willing to wager that Aki's new, if not the question wouldn't even be asked in the first place.]

Given any thought onto what you're going to evolve it into? It's pretty complex, thinkin' about all the different ways they can.
Unless you're like me, and am getting all of their different evolutions.
no subject
[He hasn't really given much thought to his Pokemon, period. But something like choosing an evolution...that's a pretty big decision, isn't it?]
I'll let Trick decide.
no subject
A few weeks.

[He doesn't particularly like playing teacher, but he can do it if needed.]

Don't worry about going home. It'll happen.
[Until then they're both stuck here, but it helps to think that sometime in the future they'll be returning back to where they came from.
Hope's all he has at the moment.]

Reno will do fine anywhere, but we've got people waiting for us.
[He'll probably not be able to take enough leave to cover his absence, huh?]

... for both of us.

[At least they won't have to explain their long disappearance to Tseng and/or Rufus. That'd be a nightmare.]
You got a tough home?
no subject
[At the very least, he could end the conversation with a new name and face, in case he might need it in the future.]
no subject
Family matters.

That's what I've been doing with mine - I've got quite a few Eevee. Kind of glad they're all choosing differently - man, when Tifa was eying those Fire Stones, I was a little worried!
[he dropped the tifa word]
no subject
You know Tifa?
[Answer carefully Laguna~]
no subject
I do - Tifa Lockheart, at least. There might be other Tifas out in the worlds. Though I'm not from her world - are you?
[Nnnnot gonna mention their fates quite yet, the whole Conflict thing.]
no subject
It doesn't matter.
no subject
Was/Is she here? How do you know her?
[Important questions that Rude needs answered. For reasons. Important ones.]
no subject
She wasn't here, no. It was a war (between two gods) where we met. Powerful heroes and villains were dragged in, and we were fighting for them. I don't remember all of it, but me and Tifa were friends and allies.
(Alongside Lightning, Kain, Yuna and Vaan. They're all from other worlds as well - we were on the same side, fighting for Cosmos, and the six of us ended up travelling together. Man, the way Tifa used her fists was pretty cool!)
Was she well in your world, before you came here?
[He doesn't know how to ask if she was dead or anything. Because he is still trying to figure out how many of them survived that cycle.]
no subject
But that does sound a lot like Tifa. Using her martial art skills to save the world. She's too good a person to-
Wait. Why that question? That's a really odd way of phrasing the usual "How's she doing?" question.]
She's fine. She saved the Planet again.
Why do you ask that?
no subject
Well, the thing is? The last thing I remember of that world is the six of us giving our lives to protect the other Warriors of Cosmos. There were these mindless killing machines, and somebody had to stop them so they didn't kill everybody. So us six went and destroyed how they were getting to that world.
I've been worried about them.

When the hell did this happen!? Was Strife there? Why didn't he do anything? Did you see her...
[...die? That's the unsaid word. Rude knew that at one point she was going to be executed by Shinra; he didn't like it at all but he could accept that, because that was a natural consequence of going against the company that the Turks were part off. Nothing was more important than finishing the mission.
But this was different. This time they weren't on opposite sides. There was no Shinra involved, no code shared among a team. This was Tifa doing what she did best: fighting for the lives of others.
She's not supposed to die.]
Voice: Filter
Strife? Like - Cloud Strife? [He'd heard the name from Tifa before.] He was a Chaos Warrior, but she protected him too. A lot of us suffered from memory problems - I think she knew more then him. I'm not sure when it happened, though - but I was one of the first to go. I didn't see it, no.
[He knows what Rude meant. His voice is becoming more serious, more strong. He's a man of the gun, after all. Well, he was.]
Voice: Filter
[Seriously? Rude shook his head, unsure what to make of the situation. There was a lot of contradictory information he was getting here; Cloud, a villain? Maybe it was those Jenova cells messing up the guy's brain again.]
...Cloud's alright. He, Tifa and their friends saved the Planet.
So, if you didn't see her die then...there's a chance she didn't?
no subject
So you prefer to stay here?
no subject
Why not?
