The Turks are his family; mess with them and you mess with him. Background One of the senior Turks and best friends with Reno. He's known to be the Turk with the most physical strength. ((OOC: Anyone who dropped by to give Rude advice on his previous post here is getting a small bag of cookies. Looks like he really took Mayuri's advice.))
Action at Rocket HQ
[Rude is not often at Rocket HQ, but he'll be hanging around the base for the next week or so. It might have to do with the fact that every time he so much as twitches his right arm he makes a soft tch sound, an unwanted souvenir from his time at Ecrutrek City.
Rude can be found wandering around anywhere in Rocket HQ, from the gym to the labs to the rec room.
If found at the rec room he'll be seated at the table, a pack of cards in his hands. He's about to start a game of Solitaire but he honestly wouldn't mind a bit of company.
Otherwise, he'll just generally be observing and speaking with a few Rockets to catch up on what he's missed while he's been on his travels. It's been a few months since he's been here, after all.]

Dec. 19th, 2013 07:47 am[Tis the season to be jolly and giving, but Rude has never been that great at either. He's twigged that it's part of the year end's custom here to give presents and he's spent the last few days shopping, but there's still one last person on his giftlist that he's still stuck at.
Which is why he's asking all you kind and gentle souls of Kanto/Johto for help.]
What's a good present for someone special?

I'm here. 3 o'clock, at the Pokemon Centre.

Been a little quiet lately. I'm up for some missions if anyone needs me.

Anyone for a game at the bar tonight? Loser treats the winner to a drink. I'm at Goldenrod.
Text: Action, Goldenrod casino/bar
[And here he's come full cycle. It's been awhile since he's been back in Goldenrod but now that his business with Minoriko was over, it's time to kick back and enjoy a slow evening. Rude might be a creature of action but a bit of peace every now and then never hurt anyone. Plus, some times it's good to get out and mix with people. Reno would've accused him of turning into a recluse and honestly it wasn't healthy for him to spend so much time by himself.
Feel free to approach him for the aforementioned game in his text message. Rude's got a deck of cards that he's idly shuffling, but there's darts, checkers, and even pool to try and win that drink out of him.]

[With Rocket Training done and over with, it's time for Rude to start his own journey. He's a bit tired of the Goldenrod BGM and admittedly slightly curious about what else is in store for him out there in the Pokemon world. But most importantly, he's looking for adventure and action, and hanging around in one town isn't going to cut it.
Picking a destination wasn't hard; just start where everyone else was starting. Easier prey and he doesn't have to fudge any more details about the place to everyone who's been asking about his journey.]
I'm going to New Bark Town. Anyone interested?

What are some good Pokemon to capture?
For Battling purposes.

Character: Rude
Age: No canon age given, a rough estimate is around the early thirties.
Canon: Final Fantasy 7 Franchise
Canon Point: Post FF7 Advent Children
Background: Wikia article
Personality:
First impressions of Rude paint a very grim picture, especially if he's first met while he's on the clock. Sporting a pair of shades and an unflappable, unchanging expression at almost all times, Rude comes off as emotionless and stoic when he's called to act in a professional capacity. He doesn't talk much when he's on the job, but when he does he cuts straight to the point, with his focus seemingly tacked only onto the successful completion of a mission. But although he doesn't figure much in conversations he still forms an intimidating presence in the room, looming from the back like a threatening shadow or taking a more...direct approach with his fists.
People might assume that Rude has shut down his emotions to cope with the shadier aspects of his job, or that he's deadened himself to the evil he's doing...but the truth of the matter is that his silence stems from the fact that he finds it difficult to think of the correct words to use to explain the situation best, especially when the situation is a complex one.
In actual fact, Rude is a bit of a sentimental romantic underneath the image of the tough, ruthless and silent Turk that he creates for himself, whether consciously or unconsciously. He can get downright mushy when it comes to crushes and he does display a somewhat chivalrous attitude towards the women he crushes on, eg. buying flowers for a girl he dates in Before Crisis, and refusing to lay a finger on Tifa in any of the Turk battles during FF7. He gets embarrassed when confronted on his own relationship matters and he does display his more shy and introverted self when in the presence of close friends and loved ones.
He is also rather protective of his fellow Turks and displays a lot of concern for their safety. One way to actually draw an outright display of emotions out of Rude is to threaten and/or injure his team mates. As a younger man in FF7 Before Crisis, Rude actually breaks his usual calm professionalism with a rather heated outburst when he encounters the Avalanche member who injured his partner. He controls his emotions a lot better by the time of the original FF7 game, choosing to instead coolly threaten Avalanche over injuring Reno but the fact remains that one way to make him mad is to hurt his partner. Rude is also very loyal to the Turks, rather than the Shinra company that the Turks work for. The Turks view each other as something akin to family and each are willing to forsake their loyalty to Shinra, an action that would mean almost certain death, if it would mean standing by the side of their fellow Turk.
However, Rude is far from the good guy of the series. He does his fair share of bad things and takes it in stride, appearing unaffected by the moral and ethical implications of some of the missions he's had to do. He isn't necessarily a bad person but he has accepted that part of his job as a Turk involves acts that would make a normal man blanch. The Turks are involved in kidnappings, blackmail, espionage, theft and murder and as one of the senior members of the group Rude is definitely no stranger to any of them. Rude, like his partner Reno, displays a very professional approach to their work; they will get the job done, by hook or by crook. He doesn't seem bothered at all by the fact that he kidnaps people to be forcibly part of SOLDIER; to tell the truth he seems more worried about his junior's ability to handle the job, rather than the abduction aspect of it.
Rude also loves the action-orientated life of a Turk. He wouldn't be able to stomach an everyday ordinary life; as he muses to himself in "The Case of Shinra", he'd miss the thrill and adrenaline that comes with each mission. He can't see himself doing anything else and the thought of not being a Turk is almost painful to him. Rude takes pride in being a Turk and is confident in his abilities to see his way through every mission.
The success of the mission always seems to be the end goal for the Turks but the Turks aren't just blind followers of Shinra company eager to obey; their final loyalty is to the Turk name, to their fellow Turks, and to a certain extent Rufus Shinra. They will observe the situation and make judgement calls regarding their orders and it just so happens that most of the time, morals and ethics don't play as large a part in their decision-making as keeping each other alive and caring for each other's well-being do. Rude does his job but even the Turks need days off too and unless it's an emergency equivalent to an abduction of the President he's not going to jump up and abandon his well-deserved and well-earned holiday. And there are orders that Rude is reluctant to carry out. Rude may not have much reservations about the dirtier aspects of his job, but in FF7 Before Crisis even he can't bring himself to hand over all the injured survivors of Sephiroth's rampage into Professor Hojo's hands to be used as guinea pigs for the professor's experiments, or hunt down and terminate a former Turk that he has nothing but respect and absolute loyalty to. It could be argued that these incidents might've been due to the fact that he was a younger man at the time and as such he appears more cool and comfortable with the shady aspects of his job by the original game. However, even as an older man he agrees with Reno that there's no point in fighting and potentially losing his life over an order from a company that's gone bust and when the Planet is potentially about to be obliterated by a piece of rock from the sky. There's just so much more he can do with the little time that's left, like organizing an evacuation and spending that time with those he actually cares about. Not Shinra Co, but his other fellow Turks.
Lastly, I'd like to end this personality section with a paragraph covering one of Rude's most important character relationships in the game: that of his long partnership with Reno. The two play off as near total opposites to each other. Apart from their dedication to their jobs as Turks and their seniority, Rude and Reno are really quite unalike each other. Reno wears his uniform messily and slouches, while Rude is as neat as a pin and stands up with straight back. Where Rude is silent and stern, Reno will supply a sarcastic comment or a quick quip and snark on. But Rude's more balanced and stable attitude is a good counter-balance to Reno's more impulsive behaviour. The two make up for each other's weaknesses and allows them to concentrate on their respective strengths ie. Reno's speed and Rude's strength. Add to that their great teamwork and rapport and you've got a duo that's hard to beat. Reno is Rude's best friend and his partner; it's not to say that he cares for the other Turks less but he and Reno have a special friendship with each other and there's no other Turk that he's closest to or more comfortable to chat and confide in than Reno, despite the latter's tendency of gossiping every not and then. Rude cracks his serious exterior and speaks more casually to Reno than anyone else. Although the red-head might do most of the teasing and joking, Rude might not only come up with a come-back but he also makes a few quips and teasing comments to Reno every now and then, be it at a bar downing a few drinks or when they're in a bad situation fighting for their lives. When he makes a dangerous stand against the enemy, Reno has always been by his side. It's hard to see Reno without Rude and vice versa because they're amazing partners and they both know it.
Abilities:
Rude is known as the Turk with the most physical strength; while not on the same level as Cloud, Tifa and gan, he's strong enough to hold his own against monsters and other trained fighters. When with Reno he becomes even more of a feared opponent, with Reno often acting as the distraction for Rude to close in and deliver a powerful blow to their enemies. Rude also has been trained in all of the standard skills Turks would need to have in their line of work: he's best with hand-to-hand combat, decent with explosives and firearms, and has probably received training that would assist in infiltration and kidnapping, as well as training on enduring torture and escaping should he be caught during a mission. He can also fly a helicopter.
